Karpatech Notification Server (KNS) is an automated notification and warning system for informing relevant responsible persons of emergency events or accidents, or during search, rescue and recovery efforts, as well as for notifying persons who could be jeopardised by such events.
The system provides for mass relaying of information to a wider group of people, and eliminates the risk of human error arising from stress and time pressure that occur during alarm situations. It also significantly reduces the time necessary for informing responsible persons. The latest version KNS 2.0 is suitable for a wide range of emergency events, e.g. fire, air contamination, leak of dangerous substances, bomb threat and other critical situations. The system can handle several threat situations simultaneously and enables setting priorities for their reporting or notification of all events at the same time.
The notification is executed by means of a private, public or a mobile phone network via voice, SMS or email messages. The system is capable of notifying the predetermined persons simultaneously on multiple contacts until they confirm reception of the information, with the possibility of setting the confirmation level.
Karpatech NotificationServer comprises of hardware and software components that provide for its final functionality. The hardware part consists of a control PC server, the necessary number of professional voice modems for operation of voice calls, industrial GSM modules for sending and reception of SMS messages, together with other equipment for communication via a PC network and alarm event detection elements. The software part includes a client/server application based on the Microsoft Windows NT/2000 platform. It consists of several modules that provide for notification and system configuration. The KNS can be set up also from a remote workstation.
