Aastra MX-ONE is an IP branch exchange with a complex application package designed especially for mid-sized and large organisations. It integrates data, voice and mobile communication into a compact server system. Its most recent, the third version, offers true convergence with accent on mobility, while supporting traditional digital and analog equipment.
The system is built on the basis of the MX-ONE Telephony System, an IP branch exchange that comprises of a telephony server and a Media Gateway. Both elements can be easily incorporated into an existing IT environment. The telephony server is based on an Linux server providing access to phone services such as call routing, call waiting l or call-back. Media Gateway represents an interface that enables phone services to communicate with the corporate, public or private data network. This combination offers all advantages of an IP communication. Both the telephony server and Media Gateway are available in several versions. The system offers over 500 tools and provides for connection of 100 000 users.
The range of functions available with MX-ONE is expanded by Contact Management Suite from Netwise. It enables utilising host solutions, self-management of user data or integration with a calendar. MX-ONE also cooperates with the Microsoft Office Communications Server communication solution, which offers tools for searching for and communicating with people in various locations.
